Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives (1970) to research and document global women's history. She teaches with images from her collection of over 80,000 photos of female cultural heritages across time and space. She is internationally known for her expertise on archaeomythology / iconography, matricultures, and orature; historical processes of patriarchalization and how they are entangled with other systems of domination; medicine women, shamans, witches, and the witch hunts. Her books include Witches and Pagans: Women in European Folk Culture, 700-1100 (2016) and Women in Greek Mythography: Pythias, Melissae and Titanides (2023). She has produced scores of videos and teaches via webcasts and online courses.

Realizing how urgently the climate emergency had reached, after months of grief and despair, whirled into active hope. In brief, I took a sabbatical from my past life becoming a full time climate activist in XR. To me this Climate Emergency needs mostly a global shift in consciousness. I enrolled and finished a Master degree at Schumacher College, U.K., in Ecological Design Thinking and started facilitating Community Building in local Communities,The Work that Reconnects, Transition Town models and Gaia Education programs as a certified trainer. My thesis was on the cultures of the Goddess, Patriarchal societies and Feminine Wisdom. I have also certified with Hagia Academie with Dr. Heide Goettner-Abendroth to become “Lecturer on Modern Matriarchal Studies”. The energy of the Feminine is calling me. Community building, Matriarchal Sacred Mysteries, Sacred in Cultures, Poetics of Imagination, Performance Arts in Delicate Activism. All I am investigating as an artist I use to facilitate and create a shift in consciousness. Patriarchy is the interlocking legal, economic, cultural, and religious systems and traditions that support male supremacy. It was born in the commodification, rape, and murder of women. It has existed in remarkably consistent forms for five thousand years. Medusa Rising means for this millennium to be its last.
